Assistant's Creed is the B-plot of the 34th episode of Odd Squad.

Synopsis[]

Two of Ms. O's assistants accidentally find themselves on a mission to stop a villain who turns teddy bears into evil robots.

Learning Goal[]

  • Numbers and Operations: adding different numbers to get to the same sum.

Plot[]

The episode begins in Ms. O's office. Olive and Otto walk in asking why Ms. O wanted to see them, as usual. Also as usual, Ms. O says something very odd has happened, but this time she'll explain in the Tube Lobby. The three make their exit, leaving only Ms. O's assistants: Olympia (Saara Chaudry) and Ozric, who were seen helping her when Ms. O was talking.

Olympia vents to Ozric why they can't go out on cases like Olive and Otto. Ozric answers that they're only assistants, and they're only allowed to help Ms. O. Olympia, ignoring him, suggests using Ms. O's personal tube entrance to go out and solve oddness. Ozric tries to stop her, but Olympia is dead set. Without any real choice, he jumps in the tube and goes after Olympia.

The two rookies arrive at an office building, where there are people screaming and papers flying everywhere. Hopkins, relieved to see Odd Squad, tells them a lady stole the place's batteries and then released a tornado made of teddy-bears. Olympia and Ozric, posing as agents, try to solve the odd problem by reaching behind their backs and pulling out the Un-Teddy-Bear-Inator. Olympia and Ozric unsuccessfully pull the maneuver, with Ozric repeatedly pulling out Toothbrush-Inators. Ozric then comes to the realization they can combine gadgets to get the one they need. The combine all the gadgets they pulled out into number twenty to stop the teddy-bear tornado. Hopkins thanks Olympia and Ozric and they try to leave, but they don't know where the tube entrance is. They eventually just walk back to headquarters.

Ms. O returns to her office, but finds the assistants still gone. Thinking they are playing hide-and-seek, Ms. O scours through her office looking for them.

Olympia and Ozric, now outside are on their way back, when they run into Delivery Doug, who happens to have an odd problem himself. He explains that his batteries to his cassette player were stolen along with his car being covered in fluffy teddy-bears, just like before. Olympia, seeing another opportunity at greatness, agrees to help with the Un-Teddy-Bear-Inator. But, they accidentally lost the original they made, so they combine the gadgets they do have into number twenty again. Doug then spots the lady who stole his batteries and teddy-bear-ed his car. Olympia and reluctant Ozric chase after the lady to stop her from causing more oddness.

Meanwhile, Ms. O has completely trashed her office looking for her assistants. He then gets a call from Olive and Otto, who are out on their own case. Once they realize Ms. O is playing hide-and-seek, they hang up swiftly.

Still out on their own venture, Olympia and Ozric discover the lady in a warehouse, trying to bring a giant teddy-bear to life. The villain Evil Teddy finds them, and sends her army (but really just trio) of life size teddy-bears after the two. Olympia and Ozric somehow lost their second Un-Teddy-Bear-Inator, so they have to combine gadgets for the third time, to save the day. Olympia gets her hands into fluffy paws, so she can't pull out her own gadgets. Ozric has to pull out twenty Toothbrush-Inators, to make the Un-Teddy-Bear-Inator, which they use on the monstrous stuffed animals.

Evil Teddy then surrenders to the assistants. That moment, Olive and Otto rush in demanding Evil Teddy to stop right there. But she already surrendered to Olympia and Ozric, so no assistance is needed. Olive and Otto and praise the two for catching Evil Teddy as they've been trying to do all day. Ms. O suddenly appears right beside them and yells at the assistants for leaving without permission. The chastising is halted however, when Ms. O grants Olympia and Ozric agent badges, for solving the case. Elated, the two newly admitted agents head back to headquarters. Olive and Otto prepare to take in Evil Teddy before she slinks away. The pair scramble after her, ending the episode.

Trivia[]

  • The episode's title is a parody of the video game series Assassin's Creed.
  • The assistants' tube pods are purple, which is the same color as management's tube pods.
  • Although Olympia becomes an agent in this episode, she still remains Ms. O's assistant in the Training Videos.
  • Olympia would later appear in Season 2 again, with the main-character Olympia in the episode Other Olympia, and the former Olympia was renamed Odal after the Name-Off in that episode.
