Odds and Ends is the 35th and final episode of Season 2 of Odd Squad. It is the second part of the previous episode, "Who Is Agent Otis?".

Synopsis[]

The agents face an unlikely villain and must work together to save the world.

Olympia's Random Slide[]

This is...the end of our story.

Learning Goal[]

  • Numbers and Operations: adding different numbers to get to the same sum

Plot[]

Part One:

The episode opens with the agents of Precinct 13579 crowded in the bullpen, with Xavier, Xena, and The Big O in the center. Xena announces that now that Oprah is gone, a new director will be chosen. The Big O says he’ll pick the person who gave him a ‘really cool toy’, and announces the new Mr. O is Agent Ohlm. With that, he uses the Mr. O-inator on him, while everyone asks why Ohlm, out of all agents, is their new leader.

Orchid exclaims that Ohlm was her partner, and asks who will replace him. Xena tells her that she will partner with Olympia, and Xavier adds that “she’s the reason Otis and Ms. O got kicked off,” and it was her fault the whole ordeal happened. Orchid agrees with them, asking how anyone could forget, and the Big O departs for a playdate. The X’s leave after him, claiming “they fixed everything.”

Ohlm tells everyone not to worry, because he has a bunch of great ideas, such as making Odd Squad is kids-only. When Oona remarks that kids already do work there, Ohlm runs off, and Ocean goes after him. Orchid puts on a life jacket, telling Olympia she doesn’t want to get thrown overboard like Otis did. While the former leaves, Owen asks the latter if a lone box was all of Otis’ stuff. After Olympia confirms, Owen tells a nearby security agent that they’ll take Otis and Oprah’s stuff to “Todd’s place”. Olympia says to herself, “like Odd Todd’s place? Why would Ms. O and Otis be going there?”

The scene switches to Odd Todd, Oprah, and Otis going down stairs, and Todd introducing Todd’s Home for Villains (trademark) to them. He then explains that it’s a place where villains come when they don’t want to be villains anymore. He shows Oprah and Otis pictures of clients who went to his place - while they used to cause oddness, they now all sell garage door openers, because he “has an in with a garage door opener company.”

A garage opens to reveal a calm area, where former villains are enjoying hobbies. Otis tries to tell Todd that they had to come there, or their precinct would shut down, and Oprah adds that the two aren’t villains. Todd informs the group what the former said, and all them laugh. Oprah and Otis take seats, while Todd and the villains perform “Say You Did Wrong”, a song dedicated to admitting you were a villain once in order to not be one. After the song is over, Todd tells Otis and Oprah to sing a song too, which causes the latter to do her trademark growl.

Meanwhile, Ohlm is collecting gadgets from all the agents, and when Olympia asks why, the former says he wants to put stickers on them. After Olympia gives her gadgets to Ohlm, Oona suddenly appears right next to Olympia, and whispers that they need to talk. When the latter asks why, the former, still whispering, claims she knows how to fix everything, and tells the agent to meet her in the lab. As the two girls walk to the lab, Orchid throws Oona a lifejacket, saying she’ll need it.

At the lab, Oona reveals that the X’s made her file the paperwork from Otis’ trial because she was the last one to say she didn’t want it. She adds that the paperwork was actually a good thing, and shows Olympia that the first break-in was on March 3rd. Since Otis and Olympia started working at Odd Squad on March 4th, Otis couldn’t have helped villains break in on the 3rd, which proved him and Oprah innocent.

Meanwhile, Otis and Oprah participate in "Show and Yell" - "Show and Tell", but with yelling. Suddenly, Olympia and Oona arrive, which disrupts the peace, and causes the villains to get tense. The two agents then specify that they want to talk to Oprah and Otis. The latter two leave with the former agents, while Todd calms down the villains.

Out of the room, Olympia and Oona show Otis that he wasn't in headquarters on March 3rd, meaning neither he nor Oprah helped villains break in. Otis requests he talk to Olympia privately, and she accepts. The former partner pair apologize to each other for what happened at the court, and they both monologue other each other, ending with the same phrase: "-and the best part is, every day, I get to work with my best friend."

Oona thinks everything is right again(she shows a thumbs up cake made to celebrate it), when Oprah points out it still isn't. She also notes that Xavier and Xena were right about the fact that one agent is trying to destroy the squad. So they decide to remain bad until they find out who it is. Oona questions how they can find out who it is(showing another cake with a question mark). Oprah replies they will look through every agents' files for which they have to sneak back into headquarters. Olympia asks Oona how big of a cake she can bake, to which Oona replies she can bake one based on the flavor, noting she can bake a huge cake when Olympia asks for a vanilla flavored one.

Olympia and Oona sneak Oprah and Otis into headquarters by hiding them in the huge cake. Oprah acknowledges Oona about the fact she can bake a huge cake. Ohlm speaks on the loudspeaker reminding the agents to "turn in those gadgets". Otis asks if Ohlm was the one speaking, to which Olympia and a shuddering Oona reply he is, since he's Mr. O now. They make their way to the file room to sort through all the agent files to find out the bad agent, the one who was in headquarters for all the break-ins. Oona states it would be a piece of cake, to which Otis replies it isn't given the huge amount of files in the room. Oona replies she was referring to the pieces of cake she brought, which they could eat while searching through the files.

After ruling out nearly every agent(such as Owen for being on break on a villain break-in on April 3rd and Orchid for being out sick on a villain break-in on May 20th shown on a line graph of break-ins within the month of May), Olympia loses hope on them being able to find the agent, which means Oprah and Otis are still off and she is still stuck working for Ohlm with Oona. Oprah questions why Ohlm wasn't counted in their search, to which Oona replies it was because he's not an agent anymore. Oprah notes he had first entered on March 3rd(the day before Olympia and Otis began working) as Otto's partner, the day Otis replies is when the break-ins began. Olympia checks when Ohlm was in headquarters during the break-ins in the month of June depicted through a line graph on her watch. She finds out that every time a villain-break in occured, he was in headquarters, and that there were no break-ins when he was not there, a pattern which continues for further line graphs showing later break-ins. Otis and Oona doubt this, given he eats yogurt with the wrong end of the spoon and messes up all his cases, to which they all realize he was "pretending not to be smart" so that they'd not suspect him. Seconds later, Ohlm shows up, lets out an evil laugh, and eats yogurt with the correct end of the spoon, proving to them he is actually clever and not dumb.

Part One ends to be continued

Part Two:

Oprah asks Ohlm why he chose to turn against Odd Squad. Ohlm replies that people do things for love, money or power. He chose to seek power since agents aren't paid and love "gives you the cooties". Oona then questions that he never wanted to fight oddness, to which Ohlm answered yes. He started like all agents, going to the academy. When it came time to graduate, he was made an agent. He wanted to be the Big O, to which the academy girl told him that he would get there with hard work. When Ohlm asks the girl that if the girl wouldn't give him the job right away, she replies "no that's ridiculous". Ohlm then vows to destroy Odd Squad though the academy girl didn't hear him because she had water in her ear.

Ohlm explains he used his genius to destroy the squad. He pretended to be dumb to steal any codes, gadgets, or anything else he could get. He gave information to the villains on how to break into headquarters, though something would always go wrong and leave him frustrated. Since every plan of his failed, he was going to give up until Olympia accidentally got Otis and Oprah off the squad which made him Mr. O and gave him the position to take out Odd squad. Olympia tries to restrain Ohlm with the handcuff-inator, only to find she doesn't have it since Ohlm took every gadget. He reveals he never intended to put fun stickers on them, even if he does like stickers, and he pulls out a sticker-inator, which he uses to trap the main quartet to a wall with a banana sticker before leaving.

Ozlyn then gives Ohlm the last of the gadgets in headquarters. Ohlm says "excellent" and lets out another evil laugh. Ozlyn felt that Ohlm was evil, and he felt she was right. He combines the Hairbrush-inator and Hat-inator to make the Freeze-inator which he freezes her with. Meanwhile the main quartet struggle to get out of the sticker until Oona directs Olympia's attention to the straps which inflate her suit. She inflates her suit and breaks them free, and then they go to find Ohlm.

When the main quartet finally catch up to Ohlm, he reveals he took all the gadgets in headquarters to equal Gadget 10,000: The BlackHole-inator. He then activates the gadget to suck every Odd Squad agent into oblivion, though Oprah warns him stating he will get sucked into it. As Ohlm is about to get sucked into the hole, Oprah goes back for him and holds his hand. Olympia tells Otis and Oona that they have to take the gadgets apart, to which Oona replies they can't just take apart any gadget, as it won't equal 10,000 and instead equal up to something else, which could be worse than that. Ohlm told Oprah "Ew! Your hand is sweaty!", to which she replied that she was saving him, and he asked her if she could do it without sweating so much. Otis told Olympia and Oona that they needed to take away a specific gadget to get a specific number, and asked Oona "Oona, what's a good number?". Oona gives them an answer.

Oprah's hand begins to slip. She yells "Agents help! My hand is slipping!" Ohlm adds "It's because they're so sweaty!" Oona tells Oprah she's coming, and tells Otis and Olympia to find a number between 10,000 and 9,995 before leaving. Olympia and Otis sit down, where Olympia enlarges her watch to use a number line. Oprah's hand finally slips, but Oona in a robot suit saves her and Ohlm. She takes them away safely, to which Ohlm stated "Ew! Your robot hand is sweaty, too!", but Oona replied "You've got the sweaty hands! That's the problem!". Otis told Olympia that they needed to find out how many numbers were between 10,000 and 9,995, and she replied that they could count up from 9,995. Her smartwatch started responding when Otis said "that's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.". He also told Olympia that they needed to take away gadget #5, and when they stood back up, he asked "Where is it?", and she pointed at where it was, answering "Way up there!", and told Otis that they'd never reach it in time.

Otis then asks Olympia if she remembered that his duck family flew south for the winter, to which she replied "Are we seriously talking about this right now?!" Otis tells her that what he didn't say to her earlier is: "I flew with them." Otis then flies up to Gadget 5 and removes it with his mouth, closing the black hole and ruining Ohlm's plan. Gadget 9,995 was then revealed to be the Pineapple-inator.

Otis then asked Ohlm if he's okay, to which he angrily replied he isn't since Odd Squad survived. He once again vows to continue fighting Odd Squad until it's destroyed. With no other options, Oprah realizes the one thing left to do is to tell Ohlm's parents about his plan and how he almost destroyed the world, which she does. Ohlm tries to explain but his parents ground him and send him to his room. Oprah thanks Mr. Ohlm and Mrs. Ohlm, to which Olympia realizes Ohlm's name is Ohlm Ohlm, a family name. Oprah admits that while she doesn't like to involve parents, she admits it's the only way sometimes, to which everyone else agrees.

Brother Quack and the other ducks then arrive. They apologize to Otis for their earlier actions, having realized Otis was trying to protect them. Olympia and Oona are baffled by this.

The Big O awards paper plates with faces to Olympia, Oona, Oprah and Otis for successfully fighting Oddness. He then zaps Otis with an agent-inator to welcome him back to the squad. Otis and Olympia reply "Good to be back" to each other as everyone clap and cheer. The Big O announced that he is going to kindergarten and needs a successor. He appointed Oprah as the new Big O with a Big O-inator as everyone else cheers.

After all of the juice boxes are transported through the tubes, The Big O announces she's leaving. Oona tries to walk away but Olympia stops her, stating the Big O is leaving and it's sad because she taught them everything they knew. She stated that she learned from them too, much to Olympia, Otis and Oona's surprise. She tells Oona she learned from her the boss can sometimes be wrong and was a worthy successor to Oscar's position. She tells Otis she learned from him that people can change for the better and lawn bowling. She finally tells Olympia she learned from her to always look at the bright side, and helped her love Odd Squad more though the way Olympia loved it.

The Big O finally states to Olympia Otis and Oona it's been a honor of her life to work with them, having lived for a long time and will miss them. They share a final hug.

Suddenly, Orson, now Mr. O, makes a weird face. The agents and Big O notice he looks like that when he senses oddness. They find something in headquarters causing oddness. After the Big O stated she could stay in headquarters for a little while, Part 2 ends with the main quartet activating their gadgets to deal with the oddness into a freeze frame.
